Day 20 of my first 30 day challenge.

Another quick one, not much more than a slight detour via the woods to get home. For those that don’t know Bristol, Ashton Court is only a ten minute ride from my City Centre office.

It’s one of the best things about being a mountain biker in Bristol - trails within such easy reach, with views of the Clifton Suspension Bridge and the city at night from the top of the hill.

Yeah it was a brief ride today, but hey, it’s my birthday!

Also, it was wet, I’m about to go out to dinner and I had my *proper* camera with me, hence the ability to finally get a nice shot ont the way to a night ride!

Day 17 of my first 30 day challenge.

A bright bike on a grey day; complete change to yesterday where I was glad to have my coat with me, it felt good and wintery up the top of the hill!

The trails are starting to dry out after the recent rain, hopefully they’ll stay dry for a while as it’s a joy to come back with a bike that doesn’t need a full clean before the next ride!

Day 15 of my first 30 day challenge.

1 Week today is the DMR Pumptrack Race, so The hardtail has been brought back out for a week leading up to it.

I’ve finally got round to putting a tyre with some grip on the back and it felt odd to have the back wheel staying on course throughout the ride, I’m sure I’ll get used to it!

The Super Tacky Maxxis Minion is going to be brought across from the other bike soon too, it’s such an amazing tyre I felt dangerous without it at times today!

Day 6 of my first 30 day challenge.

Probably the hardest day so far, simply because I’d been working away all day and was knackered before I even started.

Luckily, when I left work, I was greeted with this sunset over Bristol which made me want to get out as soon as possible and make the most of the dropping light.

A quick “up the hill and back” once again turned into a 9-mile singletrack fest!

Day 5 of my first 30 day challenge.

Having done afternoon, evening, night and lunchtime rides so far, I woke up a little early this morning and decided to try a morning ride.

A beautiful sunny morning in Bristol, *just* warm enough for shorts & t-shirt, the distraction of sunrise over the city surely helped.

Day 4 of my first 30 day challenge.

I was planning to do today’s ride after work, but since the sun was shining and it was warm enough for shorts & t-shirt, I decided on a little lunchtime blast.

Went a bit further than I planned, couldn’t resist a couple of the more fun trails once I’d got all the way to the top of the hill!

The trails are still pretty wet, but the low sun and the falling leaves made for a lovely ride. I didn’t see a single other rider on the trails today.
